COLLISION SURVEY

Scope of Service

VMCONTROL provides professional collision damage survey services upon request by shipowners, operators, insurers, or other parties involved in maritime incidents. This service is applicable to vessel-to-vessel collisions or impacts involving piers, buoys, wharfs, or other floating or submerged objects.

Purpose

The survey aims to identify the cause and extent of damages following a collision, providing reliable and objective data to support technical, legal, and insurance-related processes.

Survey Coverage

• Assessment of collision damage to hull structures, deck equipment, and machinery systems.
• On-site survey immediately after the incident occurs.
• Preliminary analysis of the cause based on technical evidence and site observations.
  Condition comparison before and after the incident using handover reports, voyage logs, and AIS data (if available).
• Preliminary liability review of involved parties (if requested).
• Cargo damage assessment, including wetting, dents, shifting, and breakages.
• Follow-up survey post-repair to confirm restoration or determine remaining damage.
