PURPOSE OF THE SURVEY
The survey was conducted to accurately determine the quantity of fuel remaining on board at the time of off-hire, ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with contractual agreements between the involved parties: shipowner, charterer, and shipping agent.
SURVEY SCOPE
✅ Inspection and measurement of main bunker tanks, including:
- IFO (Intermediate Fuel Oil)
- MGO (Marine Gas Oil)
- DO (Diesel Oil)
- LO (Lubricating Oil)
✅ Onboard measurements included:
- Measuring fuel levels using a sounding tape
- Recording temperature and specific gravity (SG)
- Calculating actual volume converted to 15°C using Volume Correction Factor (VCF)
✅ Cross-referencing with documentation such as:
- Bunker Delivery Notes (BDNs)
- Previous ROB (Remaining On Board) reports
- Vessel’s engine room logbook
