🎯 Survey Objective
The Pre-loading Survey aims to ensure that the vessel’s cargo receiving condition meets the required safety and quality standards for carriage. This is a critical inspection step designed to prevent potential loss or damage during the voyage.
🔍 Scope of Work
- General Inspection of Cargo Holds:
Assessing the condition of cleanliness, dryness, odor, residues from previous cargoes, paint condition, signs of rust, or any structural damage that could affect the quality of the subsequent cargo to be loaded.
- Inspection of Hatch Covers and Bilge/Drainage Systems:
Ensuring the closing/opening system is weathertight, free from leakage, and ready for cargo reception.
- Assessment of Draft Marks:
Recording the current vessel’s draft marks to serve as a basis for comparison with post-loading drafts, which is essential for cargo quantity calculation (Draft Survey).
- On-site Photography and Documentation:
Capturing visual evidence at the time of inspection, which forms the basis for the final survey report and related certification.
