EQUIPMENT CONDITION SURVEY – MARITIME SECTOR

Used electrical machinery and equipment imported into Vietnam are subject to mandatory technical condition surveys prior to customs clearance. This procedure aims to ensure compliance with applicable technical and safety standards, and to prevent the importation of hazardous or obsolete equipment.

Scope of the condition survey includes:

• Loss assessment.
• Determining the cause and extent of the loss.
• Establishing a claim.
• Compensation measures.
• Proposal – depreciation – exclusion of damages.
